European Stroke Strategies Consensus Conference on Stroke Management

Helsingborg, Sweden, 22-24 March, 2006.

We hereby invite you to the Conference on Stroke management.

Helsingborg is a city in southern Sweden with the front to the Sound between Sweden and Denmark, opposite to Elsinore, Denmark, and within visibility from Copenhagen. Helsingborg has a big harbour and is a university town in cooperation with the University of Lund. The city has 150 000 citizens, and used to be the summer resort for the King of Sweden.

It is easy to reach Helsingborg from Copenhagen airport or of course from the airports of Malmö or Ängelholm/Helsingborg. The bridge over the Sound between Denmark and Sweden connecting Copenhagen and Malmö is an attraction in itself. There are close to 150 departures a day by ferries between Helsingborg and Elsinore.

The Conference venue is the Concert Hall of Helsingborg located in the city centre within short walking distance from the hotels. Lunches and refreshments will be served in the Conference halls.

The Conference will propose a document for stroke management in five domains; organization of stroke services, outcome and quality assessment, management of acute stroke, rehabilitation, and prevention.

Outline of the meeting:
Wednesday 22                     Session starts after lunchtime, and ends with get together activities.
Thursday 23                        Session all day and Conference dinner.
Friday 24                             The Conference ends with lunch.

We wish you most welcome to Helsingborg to attend some days full of interesting sessions, and social activities as well as an important decision-making process for the future care of the patients with stroke.
